A Lesson on Contentment
A bishop of the early church who was a remarkable example of contentment was asked his secret. The old man replied, " It consists in nothing more than making a right use of my eyes. In whatever circumstance I am, I first of all look up to heaven and remember that my principal business here is to get there. I then look down upon the earth, and remember how small a place I shall occupy in it when I die and am buried. I then look abroad in the world and observe what multitudes there are who are in all respects more unhappy than myself. Thus I learn where true happiness is placed, where all our cares must end, and what little reason I have to complain."

Oh dear friend! Your post are ALWAYS so profound and thought worthy.
I have thought upon this very subject much lately.
We take so much for granted...and oft think we are something! When GOD is our everything...sustainer, provider, salvation and final resting place of blessed complete CONTENTMENT.
I daily remind meself of this temporary place..and find contentment in knowing the LORD is with me...and I can be Happy in HIM as I journey along to my final days.
I am a sinner saved by grace. Every day I am reminded of how thankful I am for the blood of Jesus Christ, which has saved me from my sins and made me a child of God.
I am a wife of one, a mama of two and a nanna of three so far, trying to write and live to the glory of God in my latter years.
And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. John 1:14
The word "scraps" can mean several things, but one of its meanings is that it refers to little bits or small pieces of something. The noun "glory" refers to adoring praise and honor given to someone or something ; it also refers to the person or object itself as a thing of radiant beauty or magnificence. I hope that helps explain this blog. I'm a busy lady, and creating a third blog did not seem the sensible thing to do. But then I thought about just making short posts that would give glimpses of our King--just glances at His glory. I should have time to do that. So that's why we're here.
I didn't realize how much I love to write about spiritual things until my mature years. It's now my favorite thing to do, especially writing for young people, as I try to encourage others upward to God in various publications. I'm hoping this will be another outlet for me and an inspiration to those who happen to stop by. May you see Christ on these pages; may you love Him more; may you read something that takes you to your knees.
