I Need a Break!

Hi Friends! I've decided to take a short break. I need to for more reasons than one. The number one reason is that the wireless connection on my laptop is acting up and trying to drive me insane. I will not go into all the gory details partly because I am sick of thinking about it. For another thing, the desktop in the kitchen is having issues of its own too. Then, I have so many writing projects at different stages which I am not getting to because I am too busy on the internet, or TRYING to get on! So......I think the Lord is telling me to take a break. For the next week or more I plan to work on the editing and writing that should be taking my attention at this point. AND finish with some Christmas shopping and wrapping.

So if you don't hear from me you know where I am!

You know, I haven't been able to figure out how we can be "normal" writers in this technological age--if it's even entirely possible.

The internet is so new, really, that I don't think we've come to terms with how much it's changed all our lives and will continue to if things go on as they are now.

Whether our personal expectations need to change as a result, or, we need to leave off the internet altogether in order to really focus on anything else, I'm wondering.

For my part, I find the "focus on anything else" part, and I speak of other writing projects, not only difficult, but nearly impossible. Not entirely, but nearly.

Nowadays we want so much fresh information, being spoiled as we are by RSS. The days of writing a book with an ink well and fresh stack of paper are gone. That took a lot of time. Time for the writer and the reader; no one expected anything daily then.

I've just written a short article here...venting...and thinking.

One thing I am thankful for with all this technology, though...Jesus said to "go out into all the world and make disciples," and the internet makes that possible. Whether we are in the literal end-times or not, things are different because of the technology, and we can't go back.

Enjoy your break, Sister, and take all the time you can seize, and may God give you multiplied grace. For my part, I can't conceive how you can accomplish all you mentioned in a week's time even!

Bless your heart! I'll pray you get what needs to be done, done. It's so frustrating (these computers!) but I've had to do much the same on several occasions. Sending love & hugs....Vicki
