Now the day drew on, that Christiana must be gone. So the Road was full of people, to see her take her Journey. But behold all the banks beyond the River were full of horses and chariots, which were come down from above, to accompany her to the City Gate. So she came forth, and entered the River, with a beckon of farewell, to those that followed her to the River-side. The last word she was heard to say, here, was I come, Lord, to be with thee, and bless thee.
So her children and friends returned to their place, for that those that waited for Christiana had carried her out of their sight. So she went and called, and entered in at the Gate with all the ceremonies of Joy . . .
At her departure her children wept, but Mr. Great-heart and Mr. Valiant play'd upon the well tuned cymbal and harp for Joy. . .

I can't tell you how this touched the depths of my heart as my friend with cancer passed on to the LORD..Monday. I started praying for Colleen as soon as I found your blog and her story. It was such a blessing to read of her journey of faith and hope in the LORD. I was just struck when I read this post thinking of two young women now with the LORD. In His presence! I'm thankful the suffering is o'er...but I know for Colleen as well as Donna...much fruit has come and will in their departure.
Thank you for sharing the appropriate exert from Pilgrim's Progress.
I had been following Collen's journey Home as well. I know I've been forever changed by example of faith and trust in the Lord during her journey. Her daughter's post from yesterday was moving as well...
Thanks for sharing this Maxine.
Aloha Maxine,
I have never read Pilgrims Progress it is such a beautiful reading. I was visiting Hope and read of these precious sisters who the Lord has called home to be with him. A place where there is no more sickness, pain, or tears, no more heartaches, worries or fears.
